Calling all 2018 Brides!

Calling all 2018 Brides! – Our microdermabrasion facials are fantastic for achieving a flawless complexion ahead of your big day. But looking after your skin should start months in advance so that you can get your skin looking its absolute best on your big day. It’s never too early to start working on your complexion, so here are our top tips.

A good skincare routine

Skin responds well to consistency, so get to work and sort out your skincare right away. Doing this will make your skin’s behaviour as predictable as possible by the time your wedding day arrives! You’ll need skincare that’s adapted to your skin type, and it’s best to keep it simple, with just a few high-quality products. You’ll need a cleanser, a moisturiser and an exfoliator as well as your all-important SPF. Now’s the time to get into the habit too; no sleeping with makeup on or skipping a morning cleanse!

Address any skin concerns

You still have plenty of time to sort out any issues you have with your skin, whether it’s acne, blocked pores, pigmentation, premature ageing… just don’t leave it any later because targeting a skin concern takes time. Give your skin the support it needs to look its best. By the time your big day arrives, you’ll be able to ruin your makeup with tears, pose for photos, laugh all day and dance all night with the confidence that only a clear, smooth complexion can give you.

Book a professional consultation

If our first two tips have left you feeling a bit overwhelmed, don’t panic. A professional skincare therapist will be able to advise you on the products, routines and treatments that will be the best for your skin. They’ll also be able to suggest things you may never have thought about, and book an appointment with them to take the guesswork out of your pre-wedding skincare.

Think about your diet

What you eat can have a huge impact on your skin. It’s absolutely essential to get plenty of antioxidants from fruit and vegetables, get enough protein and stay away from excessive amounts of sugar. B Vitamins are also really important for healthy skin, hair and nails so take a look at your diet to make sure you’re getting all of them.

Well-balanced, avoid processed

Don’t be tempted by low-fat diets either; these can deprive your skin of essential fatty acids, which contribute to its healthy function. If you do have a skin concern like acne, try reducing the amount of dairy in your diet too – for some people, this change is what transformed their skin! The best way to prepare your skin for your big day is also the best way to prepare your body; by eating a well-balanced diet rich in vegetables, wholegrains, healthy fats and lean proteins, and by avoiding excess salt, sugar and saturated fats.

Drink lots of water

Hydration is one of the most important things you can do for your skin. When the body becomes dehydrated, the first place it stops sending water to is the skin, so staying hydrated is essential to keep it looking its best. Dehydrated skin becomes tight, flaky and fine lines may appear. Dehydration also causes dark circles. Just think about all the times you’ve been dehydrated – each time your skin will have had less water than it needs long before you even realised. If you really struggle to get enough water, there are several different apps you can download to help you remember!
